Must-Have:
- Ability to perform nerve conduction studies (NCS) and autonomic studies.
- Background knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, muscles, and autonomic nerves.
- Ability to conduct studies and work closely with a physician in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Description:
The EMG technologist should be able to perform nerve conduction studies and autonomic studies on patients undergoing testing of the peripheral and autonomic nervous system.
The EMG technologist must have a background knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, muscles, and autonomic nerves.
The technologist should be able to conduct studies and work closely with the physician in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care; refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of the contract.
BLS certification is required.
High school education or equivalent is needed.
Registry by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) is required.
