Air Freight Sales Executive – New York

Location: Freeport, NY (Hybrid / On-site)

Employment Type: Full-time

Industry: Freight Forwarding / Logistics & Supply Chain

About the Role

A leading international logistics and freight forwarding provider is seeking an experienced, results-driven Air Freight Sales Executive to join our team in the New York metropolitan area. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business development, expanding our air freight client base, and delivering tailored international logistics solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a proven sales track record in freight forwarding, a strong understanding of air cargo operations, and an existing network of shippers and B2B accounts.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development: Proactively prospect, qualify, and close new mid-to-large enterprise accounts needing international air freight, air charter, and express freight forwarding solutions.
Pipeline Management: Maintain an active sales pipeline via CRM, managing the full sales cycle from initial cold outreach to contract execution and account onboarding.
Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers (Logistics Managers, Supply Chain Directors, Procurement).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal pricing, air operations, customs brokerage, and customer service teams to develop competitive rate proposals and ensure seamless cargo movement.
Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of air cargo capacity trends, market rate fluctuations, fuel surcharges, and trade regulations to advise clients effectively.
Performance Targets: Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly volume (tonnage), gross profit, and revenue targets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 3–5+ years of outside sales / business development experience specifically within international air freight forwarding or logistics.
Client Network: A transferable book of business or an established network of air freight shippers in the NY/NJ tri-state area is strongly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of air freight pricing structures, chargeable weight calculations, Incoterms, TSA regulations, and customs requirements.
Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and contract-negotiation skills.
Self-Motivated: Proven hunter mindset with the discipline to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
