BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: The Employment Specialist supports individuals with disabilities in achieving Competitive Integrated Employment through comprehensive job development, placement, and retention services. This role requires strong vocational rehabilitation knowledge, the ability to collaborate with clinical teams, and skill in educating employers on disability awareness and workplace accommodations. The Employment Specialist delivers individualized and group-based employment services, develops targeted job opportunities, provides benefits planning guidance, and ensures accurate, timely documentation. With a focus on client success, safety, and compliance, the specialist plays a key role in helping individuals build sustainable employment pathways within the community. Case management or knowledge of SMI or GMHSU services AHCCCS funding, Vocational Rehab services and integrated employment preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Educate employers about disabilities, vocational implications, assistive devices, and job accommodations.
• Develop potential job opportunities through job analysis, consultation, and job modification recommendations.
• Develop an Individual Support Plan for each client Provide personalized benefits planning and utilize DB101 as needed.
• Identify appropriate employment fields for each individual.
• Conduct job skills and career development training.
• Assist with job applications, resumes, and interview preparation.
• Accompany clients to interviews when appropriate.
• Provide onboarding, orientation, and ongoing employment support.
• Coordinate supported and competitive employment services.
• Perform Job Development, Placement, and Retention (JDP/JDR) services in individual or group settings.
• Conduct outreach to community agencies and referral sources to obtain new clients.
• Collaborate with clinical mental health teams as needed.
• Document all client encounters and complete monthly case notes and progress reports.
• Complete and renew required trainings, including Workforce Development Core Competency, Relias, and Rehabilitation New Service Orientation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
• Exceptional organizational skills a must.
• Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting and working with persons with disabilities; OR Associate's Degree and two years full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting and at least one year working with persons with disabilities; OR High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to social work and two years of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting and at least one year working with persons with disabilities; OR High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and four years of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting and at least one year working with persons with disabilities.

WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday.
