Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Responsibilities Senior Accountant – San Diego, CA Kforce’s client, a publicly traded growth company, seeks a Senior Accountant to execute the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process, manage financial data, perform journal entries and account reconciliations, and support internal financial reporting. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and combines on‑site (3 days) and remote work (2 days). Key duties include: Execute the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process within specified timeframes, following established internal controls. Perform analytical functions to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month‑end close. Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and equity transactions; prepare financial statements and support both financed and non‑financed projects. Prepare monthly draw packages for assigned construction projects. Utilize financial reporting software to create, maintain, and update reporting templates and data queries. Assist with the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements of multiple construction projects in accordance with GAAP, complying with lender and ownership agreements, including tax and cash equity ownership structures. Collaborate with technical accounting professionals on research of accounting principles, reporting matters, and financial reporting rules. Respond to ad‑hoc requests from key stakeholders within the organization. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. Minimum 3 + years of experience in public accounting and/or general accounting. Experience with SAP and other ERP accounting systems. Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial and analytical tasks. Detail‑oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements. Team‑oriented, collaborative work style. Can‑do attitude and willingness to embrace company goals and initiatives. CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting preferred. Experience in the energy industry or real estate sector is preferred. Compensation and Benefits The pay range reflects the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably believe we would pay for this role at posting. Employee pay is based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs.
