Assignment Length: Ongoing (13-week contract structure noted)
Coverage Need: 1–4 weeks per month
Schedule: 4 x 16-hour night shifts (typically Monday–Thursday rotation)
Shift Hours: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM (night coverage)

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist to provide high-acuity night coverage in a busy, multi-specialty surgical environment. This role requires strong autonomy and comfort working solo night shifts with CRNA collaboration in a 1:3 staffing model.

The ideal physician is confident in regional anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, and broad inpatient surgical coverage.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide overnight anesthesiology coverage for diverse surgical cases
• Supervise CRNAs in a 1:3 room ratio model
• Perform regional blocks, spinal anesthesia, and ultrasound-guided techniques
• Manage OB anesthesia cases (required)
• Support emergency and high-acuity surgical services
• Cover broad specialties including:
  • Orthopedics
  • OB/GYN
  • General surgery
  • GI
  • Vascular
  • Urology
  • Pediatrics
  • Robotics
  • Plastics

Skills & Procedures Required

• MAC anesthesia
• Regional anesthesia & nerve blocks
• Spinal anesthesia
• Ultrasound-guided techniques
• OB anesthesia competency (required)

Practice Environment

• EMR: Epic
• Hospital size: 135 beds
• High surgical volume across multiple specialties
• Independent night coverage model (must be comfortable solo)
• CRNA support available (1:3 coverage model)

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC LOQ required
• ACLS & PALS required
• Minimum 2 years experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working night shifts
• Must be able to handle solo overnight responsibility
