Accounting Specialist

A Technology organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role offers exposure to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, collections, payment posting, account research, reconciliations, and sales tax support. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and interested in long-term career growth.

Job Duties:

Accounts Receivable

• Process and post customer payments accurately and timely
• Manage collections activities and follow up on outstanding balances
• Generate customer statements
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Assist with account cleanup and reconciliations

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
• Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment or invoice questions
• Support month-end AP processes

General Accounting

• Assist with sales tax filings and related reporting
• Perform account reconciliations and transaction research
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Support accounting leadership with special projects
• Assist with bookkeeping-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
• Experience with collections, payment posting, and account reconciliations
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Sales tax experience is preferred
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Position Details

• Pay: $27-30/hour, depending on experience, with expected pay bump upon hire
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Location: Chanhassen, fully onsite during training; hybrid flexibility may be available later
• Type: Contract-to-hire with long-term growth potential
• Hours: 40 hours per week
