About the Role

The Company is in search of a President to lead its 13 public universities, which collectively serve over 164,600 students and award more than 37,000 degrees annually. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and visionary leader, dedicated to the values of academic quality, research, innovation, student success, and inclusive excellence. This role demands an individual with a proven track record in executive leadership, particularly in the stewardship of human, financial, and capital resources. The President will be responsible for championing the institution's reputation, both nationally and internationally, and for proactively addressing the challenges of the present and future in the higher education landscape. Candidates for the Presidency should have an advanced degree, with a terminal degree preferred, and must demonstrate a deep commitment to the mission of higher education. The role requires experience in strategic change, partnership with governing boards, and fostering shared governance through collaborative engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the political landscape and the ability to work effectively across diverse perspectives, particularly in building relationships with government, business, and community leaders. A key focus of the position is on student success and access, with an emphasis on serving a diverse student population.
