HEROES Student Employee

As a HEROES student worker within Community Engagement and Well-being, individuals in this role will assist with program planning and event support, provide peer education and outreach, create digital media and communication, engage in assessment and evaluation, as well as help with administrative and office support at McNally House. This position involves serving as a peer educator around topics related to purpose, meaning, values, goal‑setting and holistic well‑being, as well as assist with planning, implementing and promoting wellness programs, and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and supportive, comfortable engaging with diverse backgrounds, cultures, etc., proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva. Students will gain valuable experience in program and event planning, presentation skills and communication skills while contributing to the success of the Center for Community Engagement and Well‑being specifically through peer education events and programming to ensure a holistic approach to student wellness. Job Responsibilities Assist with planning, implementation, promotion and evaluating community engagement and wellness programs. Help with event set up, tabling, participation, and takedown. Collaborate with Student Health and Counseling Services and other wellness partners to integrate wellness programming. Serve as a peer educator around topics related to purpose, meaning, values, goal‑setting and holistic well‑being. Facilitate workshops, presentations, and outreach initiatives connected to the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Provide welcoming, empathetic support to students seeking resources related to well being, belonging and purpose. Assist with collecting feedback and basic data from programs and events. Welcome visitors, answer questions, and help create a warm, inclusive office environment. Perform general office tasks such as running errands, watering plants, light cleaning and organizing storage areas. Attend team meetings, trainings and professional development opportunities. Occasional driving around the St. Louis metro region. Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 25lbs.
