Preschool & Pre-K Lead or Assistant Teacher Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time Tiny World Newtonville is seeking both warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Preschool/ Pre-K Lead and Assistant Teachers to join our growing team! We are a bilingual early childhood program serving children in a nurturing, play-based environment focused on creativity, learning, and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities include supporting daily classroom routines, creating engaging activities, maintaining a safe and positive environment, and building strong relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required. Experience working with children or in early childhood education is preferred, but not required. We are looking for candidates who are caring, dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about working with young children. Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Responsibilities As a Preschool or Pre-K Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. Responsibilities include: Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and curriculum. Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Supervise children at all times, including during outdoor play, transitions, meals, and rest time. Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members. Assist with classroom preparation, cleaning, and organization throughout the day. Follow all EEC licensing regulations and Tiny World Newtonville policies and procedures. Model professionalism, teamwork, and positive communication. Support children with daily routines, including toileting, handwashing, meals, and self-help skills as appropriate. Observe and communicate children’s progress and classroom needs with the Lead Teacher. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Lead Teacher Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging daily lesson plans and classroom activities. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing learning environment. Supervise children at all times and ensure compliance with EEC regulations and center policies. Lead classroom routines, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and rest periods. Observe, assess, and document children’s development and communicate progress with families. Guide, support, and collaborate with Assistant Teachers to ensure a positive classroom environment. Promote children’s social-emotional growth using positive guidance techniques. Maintain accurate classroom records and required documentation. Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and administration. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development. Model professionalism, teamwork, confidentiality, and a positive attitude. Qualifications Experience working with young children or in an early childhood setting preferred, but not required. EEC Teacher or Assistant Teacher certification preferred (or willingness to obtain if applicable). Passion for working with preschool-aged children. Reliable, caring, patient, and team-oriented. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to meet the physical requirements of working in an early childhood classroom.
