A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, DIRECT HIRE, CNC Operator in Chesterfield, MI!

Position Summary

The CNC Operator / Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating NC and CNC machinery to manufacture precision metal and/or plastic components according to engineering specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work within tight tolerances, and a commitment to quality and safety. The facility uses a variety of CNC milling, cutting, and specialized machining equipment. They currently have a Mecof 5-axis CNC , along with several 3-axis machines including Vision Wide, Fadal, and HURCO equipment . They also have an Extreme Koike CNC plasma cutter and a Madaula angle head attachment.

CNC Operator Compensation

• The pay for this position is $22-32/hr, is dependent on experience
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

CNC Operator Highlights

• This position is a Direct Hire with full benefits
• The required availability for this position 1 st & 2 nd shifts available, let me know your preference!  First shift 6 to 4:30 M-F and Saturday usually 6am- 12, 2 nd shift- Mon- Thursday 4:30am-4:30am and Friday 4:30 to 2:30 am.

CNC Operator Responsibilities

·         Set up and operate NC/CNC machines according to production requirements.

·         Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and job orders.

·         Load programs, select appropriate tooling, adjust feeds and speeds, and perform machine offsets.

·         Perform first-article and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.

·         Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.

·         Monitor machining operations and troubleshoot or adjust equipment when necessary.

·         Maintain accurate inspection records, setup sheets, job travelers, and production documentation.

·         Perform routine preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment cleaning.

·         Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve machining issues.

·         Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and reduce waste.

·         Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

·         Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and PPE guidelines.

CNC Operator Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification or vocational training in machining is preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong CNC setup and machine operation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with G-code and M-code .
• Knowledge of machining characteristics for various metals and plastics.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
• 5-axis CNC machining experience is highly desirable and may qualify candidates for the top end of the pay range.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, coolants, lubricants, metal shavings, and normal shop noise.
