Healthcare Associate

Our client is seeking an associate with 3–7 years of experience to join their Healthcare Group in the firm's San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Los Angeles, or Orange County offices. The position involves representing hospital medical staffs and peer review bodies throughout California, with a focus on patient safety, medical staff governance, credentialing, regulatory compliance, and related litigation. The firm seeks a candidate who is eager to learn and interested in helping clients address matters where patient safety, fairness, due process, and institutional credibility are critical.
Qualified candidates should possess strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, along with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex factual records, statutes, bylaws, policies, and procedural requirements. Experience in healthcare regulation, litigation, administrative law, employment law, professional licensing, or complex advisory work is valued. Prior exposure to medical staff law, peer review, credentialing, or hospital governance is preferred but not required. Admission to the California State Bar is required.
The salary range for this associate position is $200,000–$260,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Associates may also qualify for annual bonuses, including a bonus equal to 15% of base salary upon meeting the firm's annual billable-hours target of 1,850 hours, which may include up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work.
