What You'll Do

• Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately according to physician requests and hospital protocols
• Interpret and transcribe drug orders into patient records with precision
• Compound and dispense sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition
• Monitor drug therapies, ensuring safety and efficacy, including anticoagulation management
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements for controlled substances and documentation
• Participate in clinical activities like medication reconciliation, antimicrobial stewardship, and patient education
• Collaborate with healthcare teams during interdisciplinary rounds
• Supervise pharmacy support staff and verify technician activities
• Ensure proper documentation, licensing, and continuing education compliance
• Provide clinical consultation to practitioners and support safe medication practices

What You Need

• Active Louisiana Pharmacy license
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, especially with ICU, emergency, or orthopedic units
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including days and evenings, with varying hours
• Knowledge of medication safety, drug interactions, and hospital protocols
