Job Details Job Location: Natural Resources Office - Verden, OK 73092 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Salary Range: $21.00 Hourly Job Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm (M-F) JOB SUMMARY The GAP Coordinator is responsible for administering the Kiowa Tribe’s EPA General Assistance Program (GAP) to build environmental program capacity and support tribal environmental protection goals. The position includes grant management, environmental planning, community outreach, and inter-agency coordination. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage implementation and tracking of GAP work plans in accordance with EPA guidelines. Coordinate and conduct environmental assessments, capacity‑building efforts, and program development initiatives. Maintain records and prepare quarterly and annual grant reports. Organize community outreach and educational activities related to environmental awareness. Collaborate with tribal departments and federal partners to advance environmental objectives. Monitor environmental policy developments and ensure tribal participation in regional efforts. Assist in developing environmental codes, ordinances, or program frameworks. Support tribal leadership in decision‑making with relevant environmental data and recommendations. QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public administration, or related field preferred. Experience in grant coordination, environmental program development, or community outreach preferred. Familiarity with EPA GAP program objectives and tribal environmental regulations is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. REQUIREMENTS Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s vehicle policy. Drug Testing: Must pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check. Travel: Willingness to travel within tribal jurisdiction and occasionally outside for training or meetings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain. May be required to walk, hike, or navigate rough field environments. Lift and transport equipment or materials up to 50 lbs. Office work includes computer use, document preparation, and meetings.
