JOB SUMMARY : Our parts manager is retiring after a long run with us, and we're looking for the right person to take the department forward.  Harper Volkswagen is a 40+ year franchise VW store in Knoxville, TN. This is a real management seat, not a counter job with a title. You'll own the department's P&L, its inventory, and its people, and you'll report directly to the GM. We run a thriving wholesale business, we maintain an exceptionally low obsolescence, and we have a very tenured team.  $75,000–$100,000+ base including salary and fixed operations gross profit/expense incentive.  Factory training is provided through Volkswagen Academy.  This is a stable, established store with a service department that keeps the parts counter busy.

Responsibilities

• Inventory investment: hitting turn targets, keeping obsolescence in check, and managing days' supply so the shop never waits on a part
• Pricing strategy across retail, wholesale, and internal, balancing gross against customer loyalty
• Stock order discipline — keeping emergency and special orders to a minimum
• Growing the wholesale business with independent shops and body shops
• Warranty returns, cores, and factory credit recovery through proper tagging and process
• Monthly reconciliation with accounting, cycle counts, and annual physical
• Leading, training, and holding accountable a parts team that supports both our service drive and outside customers

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing a franchise dealership parts department (VW or import experience a plus, but we'll train the right person on VW systems)
• Fluency with a DMS, Dealer Track preferred, and electronic parts catalogs
• A track record you can talk about in numbers: turns improved, obsolescence reduced, wholesale grown
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR
