DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

4 state of the art Cath Labs and one Neuro Lab which just opened in March 2023 for cardiac catheterization, structural heart, and neurovascular procedures. These busy labs provide technology and expertise for Baystate’s award winning STEMI program and comprehensive stroke treatment, as well as scheduled cases, about 4000/year. Staff are cross-trained and rotate through scrub, monitor, and circulator duties, and work as a team to manage the fast-paced workflow. A supportive, individualized and thorough orientation is provided with a knowledgeable, experienced staff member. Hours are Monday-Friday, no holidays, with call coverage for emergencies 7:30p-7am and on weekends and holidays. Call commitment is one overnight shift once a week, and one weekend shift every 6 weeks. Staff have a 30 minute required response time; call sleep room is available for those who live outside the time range. Critical care experience preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required. Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience required. Education: AND required; BSN preferred.
