Job Description
Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across an entire county as an on-site educator. This contract opportunity involves traveling to multiple locations, allowing you to engage with a dynamic and diverse student community rather than being anchored at a single school. With a manageable caseload of approximately 30 students—some of whom use cochlear implants—you’ll play a pivotal role in helping them access their education and achieve their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state requirements apply)
- Proven experience serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with cochlear implants and related assistive technology
- Strong ability to adapt to various school settings and work independently
- Reliable transportation for travel across the county
- Passion for promoting student inclusion, accessibility, and self-advocacy
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a variety of educational settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are provided
- Assess student needs, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and keep accurate records of progress and services
- Offer guidance on the use and maintenance of assistive devices, including cochlear implants
- Provide consultation and training to educators and staff regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing best practices
Enjoy the flexibility of a 35-hour workweek while making a difference in the lives of students throughout the community. Bring your expertise and passion to this influential role—submit your application today to embark on a rewarding contract position supporting those who benefit most from your specialized skills.
Compensation for this position ranges from $37.71 to $57.71. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
