Assistant Project Manager (Design and Construction) Project Management Advisors, Inc. The office of this role is in San Francisco, CA and the initial focus will be on Life Science projects. Your Role As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the PMA project team and collaborate with client and project teams through the strategic real‑estate planning, design, and construction of new buildings, tenant improvement buildouts, and facilities assignments. Responsibilities Have 1+ year of development and project management experience. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate Finance, or a related field. Assist with the development and completion of project‑specific tasks to meet or exceed client expectations and contractual obligations. Support planning and analysis of conceptual design issues and pre‑construction activities. Coordinate and review architectural and engineering construction drawings and bid documents. Review, understand, and enforce contractual requirements for design and construction professionals and assist project management staff in generating contracts and addenda. Understand the building permit process and support professionals in securing permits. Meet with contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to review project status and resolve issues. Maintain and follow up on project open‑item lists. Document and/or direct project meetings. Analyze potential changes to the budget or schedule. Monitor construction budget and schedule, including updating and maintaining web‑based project controls. Observe and report on the construction process and issues (field reports, job walks, etc.). Assemble and review materials for project drawing packages. Manage the project close‑out process to a successful completion. Your Values and Skills Motivated self‑starter with a positive attitude.
