Job Description
Who We Are:
Being naked is the #1 most sustainable option. We're #2.
Since 2009, we've been on a mission to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. Named one of Fast Company's Brands That Matter and winning a Best Carbon Footprint award, we have big goals like being Climate Positive by 2025 , Circular by 2030 , and pushing the whole industry forward along the way. Our work has gotten love in Drapers and Sourcing Journal , and TIME wrote about how great our CEO, Hali Borenstein, is. Basically, we're saving the Earth and looking damn good doing it.
We're a global brand with 50+ stores (and counting) around the world, and our own sustainable factory in LA . We innovate across categories like accessories , swimwear , and sleepwear , and we reach millions of people with campaigns like this , this and this .
None of this work is possible without the incredible people behind it. We're a mission-based company that invests in an inclusive culture, so we can innovate together and ensure everyone has the space to grow, thrive, and belong.
And starting right now, we want to do all that with you .
Work Location: Remote
District Manager:
No position at Reformation is about the status quo; every team member is passionate about building a company rooted in excellence. The District Manager is a high-impact leader obsessed with using technology to create a seamless, unique interaction between our employees, customers, and the Reformation brand. Reporting to the Director of Retail, you will lead and execute all efforts required to achieve district-wide goals across our tech-enabled, vintage, and classic concepts, ensuring consistent sales and service execution in every building.
Role Scope:
The District Manager provides strategic oversight for 8–15 stores and leads a total team of up to 150 people. This leader is responsible for delivering top line revenue results, including conversion and traffic, while maintaining rigorous bottom-line cost control across the district. We are looking for a leader that will bring our values to life, highly agile and understands how to balance it all. You are smart but curious, direct but kind, and fast but sustainable in all that you do. You like to challenge the status quo, always looking for ways to make it better for our teams and customers. As a people-focused leader, you are committed to making an impact on our mission to bring sustainable fashion to everyone.
Reporting to the Director of Retail, essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership & Market Growth
- Serve as the strategic leader for the district, driving sustainable sales growth, profitability, and brand awareness across all locations.
- Develop and execute market-specific business strategies that support revenue growth, customer acquisition, client retention, and operational excellence.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Retail Operations, Marketing, Customer Team, People Team, Visual Merchandising and Learning and Development to identify opportunities to expand market share and strengthen brand presence.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer behaviors, and business performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and proactively address risks.
- Act as an ambassador for Reformation, ensuring every location consistently delivers an elevated experience.
Talent Acquisition & Talent Development
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of internal and external talent to ensure long-term leadership stability and support future market growth.
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to proactively recruit, attract, and hire top-performing leaders and sales drivers.
- Drive hiring excellence through adherence to candidate experience, time-to-hire, and open-to-hire expectations.
- Develop succession plans for key leadership positions and identify future leaders capable of supporting expansion opportunities.
- Coach and mentor Store Managers to strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, retention, and business performance.
- Foster a culture where talent development is viewed as a key business strategy and competitive advantage.
Customer Growth
- Champion clienteling initiatives across the market, driving customer acquisition, client retention, and clienteling excellence.
- Partner with Customer and Marketing teams to increase customer database growth, loyalty participation, event engagement, and personalized outreach.
- Monitor key clienteling metrics and ensure store teams consistently engage customers before, during, and after purchase.
- Consistently review and act upon NPS data to improve the overall customer experience and brand loyalty.
- Leverage customer insights and business data to increase repeat business, customer lifetime value, and brand advocacy.
- Foster a culture of relationship selling that creates long-term customer loyalty and meaningful client connections.
Field Leadership & Coaching
- Spend approximately 80% of your time in stores coaching, developing, and supporting Store Managers.
- Conduct regular business reviews focused on sales performance, talent development, customer engagement, and operational effectiveness.
- Inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals while maintaining a highly engaged and inclusive culture.
- Recognize and celebrate success while holding leaders accountable for business results and people development.
- Reinforce sales and service execution, driving accountability around core service behaviors and drive conversion.
- Lead by example, creating an environment where teams are motivated to perform at their highest potential.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, visual merchandising expectations, inventory management practices, and company policies.
- Drive accountability around key performance indicators and ensure action plans are developed and executed to improve results.
- Lead change initiatives and organizational priorities while maintaining strong engagement and adoption across the market.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is measured not only by sales performance, but by your ability to:
- Grow market revenue and profitability.
- Increase customer acquisition and client retention.
- Develop future leaders and strengthen succession pipelines.
- Improve employee engagement and retention.
- Build and maintain a strong talent bench.
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Strengthen brand presence and market share throughout the Central and Midwest markets.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Compensation:
At Reformation, we believe in transparency and equity when it comes to compensation. For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $120,000 – $150,000 + 10% annual bonus eligibility, depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal compensation equity.
This role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a range of factors, including company performance, department goals, and individual contributions. Bonus amounts and eligibility are not guaranteed and are determined at the company's discretion.
Please note that compensation decisions are made thoughtfully and may vary from the listed range to reflect individual circumstances and evolving business needs. Our total rewards package also includes benefits, perks, and opportunities for growth that contribute to overall compensation.
Benefits & Perks:
- Eligible employees get employer-sponsored private medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as commuter benefits to help support your travel to and from work.
- We offer competitive paid time off policies including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays for eligible employees.
- We offer retirement planning support for eligible employees, including the option to invest in Environmental Social Governance-aligned (fancy way to say sustainable) funds.
- We're a mission-based company with offices in LA, NYC and London, as well as a global retail team, which means you'll get to collaborate with people all around the world.
- You'll get access to fertility care support through Carrot , and up to a $5,000 USD reimbursement for related fertility expenses after 1 year of employment.
- We care about the causes our employees care about so we donate to community efforts on a yearly basis.
- We offer a clothing discount, culture events (like our annual Ref Values week and Volunteer Time Off), you know, all the meaningful and fun stuff!
Reformation is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the world we want to live in. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status—in accordance with applicable international, federal, state, and local laws.
If you require accommodations during the application or interview process, please let us know. We're here to ensure you have what you need to show up as your best self.
Still don't know if you should apply? We get it— studies show that many women and individuals from historically underrepresented communities hold back from applying unless they meet every single requirement. At Reformation, we're all about growth, not gatekeeping. If you're passionate about the role and excited about making fashion more sustainable, we'd love to hear from you. If this role doesn't totally excite you, consider applying to our general application.
