Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity working with elementary students who have developmental disabilities. This position is based at a single site in Central Falls, RI, and begins with the 2026/2027 school year. You’ll work standard school hours, totaling 37.5 hours per week, in a classroom dedicated to students in grades 3 and 4. With a manageable class size of just nine students and a strong 1:3 teacher assistant support ratio, you’ll have the resources you need to make a true impact.

Bring your expertise in special education and support a dedicated group of learners, while also benefitting from considerable training opportunities throughout the upcoming school year. You’ll work with students who require a patient, individualized approach, helping them develop academic and social skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Rhode Island teaching license in Special Education (mild-moderate or severe)
• Experience with elementary age students, especially those with developmental disabilities, preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instruction based on individual student needs
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small group instruction to develop academic and life skills
• Collaborate with classroom assistants to maintain a supportive 1:3 teaching environment
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student growth
• Monitor academic progress and adjust IEP goals as needed
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school support staff
• Participate in comprehensive training sessions and professional learning communities
