Working onsite, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and other specialists, making a meaningful impact on students’ communication skills, particularly those utilizing or requiring Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.

What You’ll Need:

• Current Maine SLP license and Educator Certification
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience providing speech and language services within a school or pediatric setting
• Background or interest in working with AAC devices and students with diverse communication needs
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs, emphasizing those using or benefiting from AAC
• Provide direct therapy, consultation, and support within a K-12 educational environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administration, and other service providers to support student progress
• Educate and train school staff and caregivers in AAC device usage and best communication practices
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district policies
