Registered Nurse - PreOp

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Level II Trauma center, primarily providing weekend coverage. The role involves performing pre-op and post-op care for surgical and GI patients, ensuring optimal patient preparation and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and monitor surgical and GI patients in pre-op and post-op settings.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and preparation.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC EMR system.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding procedures and recovery.
• Adhere to all safety and clinical protocols to maintain a trauma center standard of care.

Qualifications:

• Hold current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Possess current BLS certification and EPIC EMR experience.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in pre-op and post-op nursing.
• Prefer candidates with Certified Peri-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Peri-Anesthesia (CAPA) credentials.
• Successful completion of previous travel assignments is a plus.
