Mechanical Assembly Technicians - 2nd Shift

Mechanical Assembly TechniciansKratos is seeking skilled Mechanical Assembly Technicians (Levels I, II, and III) to join our growing production team in the manufacture of advanced switchgear, controls, and power distribution systems. You will work hands-on to assemble complex electro-mechanical products that power critical infrastructure in industries including utilities, defense, and renewable energy. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and quality craftsmanship are essential.Hours: M-F - 1:00 PM - 9:30 PMKey Responsibilities (All Levels)Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and electrical components from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructionsPerform mechanical alignments, torque fasteners to specification, and conduct fit checksUse hand and power tools to build control panels, switchboards, and associated wiringFollow strict quality standards, safety protocols, and lean manufacturing practices (5S)Perform basic to advanced electrical testing (depending on level), including use of multimeters, hipot testers, and power suppliesInterpret and complete build documentation, job travelers, and in-process checklistsUse of ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss) and mobile applications for tracking work and logging dataSupport continuous improvement efforts, collaborate with engineering and leadership on product and process enhancementUphold Kratos' Code Orange culture of excellence, urgency, and accountabilityTech I / EntryBasic assembly of mechanical parts and wiring harnesses under supervisionRead and follow simple assembly drawings and wiring diagrams, work orders, and assembly instructionsStrip and crimp wires, mount components, and plug connectors safelyMaintain a clean and safe work area (5S), wear required PPE, and follow all safety rulesLog completed steps on paper or digital travelersIdeal Background:6 months to 1+ year of relevant hands-on experience (mechanical or electrical assembly, general manufacturing)Strong work ethic and willingness to learnTech II / IntermediateAll of Tech I responsibilities in addition to Tech II responsibilitiesIndependent assembly of medium-complexity electro-mechanical systemsRead and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematicsPerform light troubleshooting and basic mechanical or electrical reworkConduct in-process inspections for part orientation, correct wiring, and torque specificationsAdhere to UL manufacturing standards and support testing/QA functionsIdeal Background:2+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experienceDemonstrated ability to work with minimal supervisionTech III / AdvancedAll of Tech I and Tech II responsibilities in addition to Tech III responsibilitiesExpert-level assembly and troubleshooting of complex control systems and switchgearTrain and mentor junior technicians on best practices and safety standardsCollaborate with engineering and quality teams on product improvements and lean initiativesConduct QA/QC inspections and generate reports on product and process conformanceParticipate in the development of work instructions and SOPsIdeal Background:3+ years of experience in UL-certified switchgear or control panel assembly (UL 508A, UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, or UL 1008)Leadership potential and strong technical communication skillsQualifications Required:High school diploma or GEDDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience using hand/power toolsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructionsCommitment to punctuality, professionalism, and safetyValid DL and clean backgroundQualifications Preferred:Completion of a vocational program or military MOS related to electrical or mechanical systemsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing (5S, Kaizen)Computer literacy (data entry, Teams, ERP systems like JobBoss)The Perks:We care about your well-being both inside and outside of work.
