We've met for 5 years - and no one pays for events. Everything is curated.We are looking for our first Executive Director.This is a highly autonomous role for someone who enjoys building relationships, organizing exceptional events, creating content, and helping a professional community thrive. You will be responsible for professionalizing and operating V-Sum on a day-to-day basis. You will be the primary operator responsible for ensuring things get done consistently and professionally. The V-Sum community is global, tight-nit, and full of people who help each other win. Your job is to help the community win.What You'll DoCommunity DevelopmentBuild relationships with members and prospective membersConduct outreach to gather feedback and identify opportunitiesInterview community members for spotlights, demos, and contentHelp identify topics, speakers, and discussions that matter most to the communityRecruit members to participate as hosts, moderators, speakers, and contributorsEventsPlan and execute 6–8 V-Sum events annuallySupport 6–8 partner or sponsored events annuallyCoordinate venues, logistics, speakers, registration, communications, and attendee experienceManage event budgets and vendor relationshipsEnsure every event reflects the quality and standards of the V-Sum communityValidate and support ongoing media opportunities for our community members.ContentConduct interviews and moderate discussionsCoordinate recording and publication of contentCreate or edit basic video and social media content, or quickly learn the tools requiredWork with community members to identify valuable stories and educational contentSponsorshipsSupport sponsor outreach and relationship managementEnsure sponsors receive agreed-upon visibility and recognitionManage sponsor communications, invoicing, and fulfillmentBuild long-term relationships with sponsors and partnersOperationsOwn the annual operating budgetMaintain calendars, workflows, communications, and operational systemsUse modern software tools to keep the organization organized and running smoothlyContinuously improve processes and documentationWhat Success Looks LikeEvents are consistently delivered at a high levelCommunity members feel connected, heard, and engagedSponsors renew because they receive valueContent reflects the interests of the communityV-Sum operates professionally and reliablyYou'll never tolerate a slide.What We're Looking ForExperience organizing events, communities, programs, or professional networks.
