Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a CA RN license with BSN.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift, 12-hour shifts with variable starts (3x12)
• Float required to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius when qualified
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CEN certification preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
• Cerner proficiency preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including intubation assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Skilled in neurological care including CVA management
• Skilled in emergency medication administration and procedural sedation monitoring
• Skilled in multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care within a Level II Trauma Center treating a combined adult and pediatric population
• Completes non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually via UC Learning website
• Two professional references from most recent employer required at time of consideration
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to offer
• No time off requests accepted mid-contract and no time off allowed within the first two weeks of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
