Lab Technician – Brea, CA

Pay Rate: $28.00–$35.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Work Location: Onsite
Interview: In-person

Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Development Technician to support engineering and laboratory operations in Brea, CA. This role involves performing technical tasks, conducting testing, documenting results, supporting equipment qualification, and assisting engineers with product development activities.

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, format, and analyze technical data, including laboratory test results, material testing results, and engineering design changes.
• Prepare engineering documents, reports, summaries, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics.
• Provide technical support to engineers and assist with routine technical tasks.
• Help identify equipment requirements and support equipment qualification activities.
• Perform general laboratory functions, including calibration, routine equipment maintenance, and implementation of safety procedures.
• Assist in developing prototype processes and test setups.
• Execute established test protocols and conduct laboratory testing.
• Document and communicate test results accurately and effectively.
• Handle test samples and chemicals used in conditioning and testing procedures.
• Notify the manager or team lead of issues that may affect project timelines or outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve routine technical problems.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in a laboratory environment, including corporate or academic laboratories, or technician experience in a regulated environment.
• Experience following written procedures and established testing protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Proficiency with personal computers and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or research and development (R&D) setting.
• Ability to understand and execute designed test procedures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with laboratory and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot and develop solutions to routine technical problems.
• Experience training or supporting less-experienced technicians.

Additional Information

• The position is fully onsite in Brea, CA.
• The pay rate will be determined at the time of offer based on qualifications and interview results, within the stated range of $28.00–$35.00 per hour.
• The submittal rate is not guaranteed and will be determined by the client after the interview.
• All interviews will be conducted in person.
