Job Title: R&D Lab Technician
Location: Garden Grove, CA
Shift: M-F, 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 (DOE)

SUMMARY
The R&D Lab Technician performs mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing on prototype and production fluid fitting connections. This position follows established procedures, tests new products, records results, and assists R&D Engineers with test procedures and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect test parts for compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and sampling plans.
Set up units and perform mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing, including pressure, proof/burst, flexure fatigue, torsion, hardness, conductivity, thermal shock, corrosion, vibration, fire, and other customer-required testing.
Monitor testing progress, document results, observations, and deviations.
Perform data calculations, photos, and micrographs.
Identify equipment requiring calibration or repair and perform preventative maintenance.
Maintain laboratory supplies and consumables.
Assist R&D Engineers with test reports, procedures, and work instructions.
Identify and report safety violations, equipment issues, and nonconformances.
Participate in continuous improvement and HSE initiatives.
Follow company, government, aerospace, and HSE requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with aerospace standards and procurement specifications.
Understanding of laboratory procedures, test equipment, air/fluid systems, hydraulic test stands, and electronic controls.
Knowledge of basic hand tools.
Basic computer, spreadsheet, and word processing skills.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving force, torque, weight, volume, and distance.
Fluid systems or pressure vessel experience preferred.
College-level mathematics, material science, or mechanical engineering is a plus.

ITAR REQUIREMENT

Evidence of "US person" is required under ITAR.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
Requires manual dexterity, repetitive hand/arm movement, bending, reaching, and eye-hand coordination.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 30 pounds.
Ability to work in moderate to loud noise environments.
