Position Overview

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and hands-on Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has strong cooking fundamentals, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering consistently high-quality food and service.

The Junior Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain culinary standards, support the team, and ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation and supervision of the kitchen.
• Lead and motivate the culinary team during service.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to established standards.
• Assist with menu execution, specials, and daily preparation.
• Maintain proper food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Oversee prep lists and ensure all stations are properly stocked for service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food-safety standards.
• Monitor inventory and communicate ordering and product needs to management.
• Train and mentor cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing as needed.
• Maintain consistency and quality during high-volume services.
• Follow all company policies and health department regulations.
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of senior culinary management.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional culinary experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen preferred.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistency.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus.
