B2B Business Development Officer

Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce

We are currently hiring for 2 positions. One for the Pittsburgh - South region and one for Pittsburgh - Central/East region.

OBJECTIVE

The B2B Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for driving membership growth, Clearview Partner Program development (also referred to as Select Employer Groups "SEG's"), and consumer wallet share expansion within an assigned geographic territory supporting designated financial center locations. This role serves as the primary owner of Clearview Partner Program relationships and is accountable for executing a disciplined business development strategy that generates new memberships, deepens existing relationships, and contributes to the overall growth objectives of the credit union. The BDO operates as a strategic partner across the organization, collaborating closely with Financial Centers, Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, Marketing, and Community Impact teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to businesses and their employees. Through proactive prospecting, relationship management, community engagement, and consultative selling, the BDO enhances the credit union’s visibility, strengthens employer partnerships, and drives sustainable growth across multiple business lines.

WORKING HOURS

Monday-Friday, generally 8:30am-5:00pm; evening and weekend hours based on departmental needs, event schedules, and/or networking functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 2+ years of outside sales, business development, or relationship management experience required (financial services preferred) Proven ability to prospect, build pipelines, and close business relationships Experience managing employer relationships, partnerships, or SEG-type programs preferred Strong knowledge of consultative sales techniques and relationship-based selling

Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; approachable, relatable, and referable Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Ability to influence decision-makers and overcome objections Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a territory effectively Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Willingness to travel throughout assigned territory and surrounding financial center markets Ability to attend networking and community events outside of standard business hours Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Lift heavy (50lbs)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Territory & Partner Ownership Own and manage an assigned territory, aligning efforts with designated financial center locations and local market opportunities Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of Clearview Partner Program relationships, serving as the primary relationship manager Identify, prioritize, and onboard new partnerships to drive membership growth and product adoption Establish and execute territory-based business development plans aligned with organizational goals Business Development & Sales Execution Prospect, develop, and manage a robust pipeline of business opportunities using CRM tools Conduct regular outbound sales activities including cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person visits Deliver compelling presentations to business owners, HR leaders, and decision-makers to secure partnerships Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals related to membership growth, product penetration, and relationship expansion Drive consumer wallet shares by promoting relevant credit union products and services to partner employees Relationship Management & Member Growth Deepen relationships within assigned Clearview Partner Program partners to increase engagement, utilization, and retention Coordinate on-site and virtual engagement opportunities including financial wellness seminars, onboarding sessions, and benefit enrollments for Partner Program organizations and their employees Act as a trusted advisor to business partners by understanding their needs and aligning credit union solutions Ensure high-quality onboarding experience and ongoing relationship support Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Financial Center teams to identify opportunities, support onboarding, and ensure seamless member experiences Refer and collaborate with Commercial Lending and Treasury Management teams to support business client needs and revenue growth Work with Community Impact and Marketing teams to enhance brand visibility and community presence Act as a connector across business lines to maximize relationship value and organizational growth Community Engagement & Brand Representation Represent the credit union at local business events, networking groups, chambers of commerce, and community functions Build and maintain Centers of Influence (COI) relationships (e.g., CPAs, attorneys, business leaders) Promote financial literacy through workshops, seminars, and community outreach initiatives Serve as a brand ambassador, reinforcing the credit union’s mission and value proposition Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, pipeline, and relationships within CRM Provide regular updates to leadership on territory performance, pipeline, and opportunities Track Clearview Partner Program performance, engagement levels, and growth outcomes Professional Development & Organizational Alignment Maintain knowledge of credit union products, services, and industry trends Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies Participate in training, team meetings, and strategic initiatives Support departmental and organizational projects assigned Support Clearview’s Commitment to fostering a workplace where every individual feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
