Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care / ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 8 or 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend and some holidays required. Flexible 4x12 schedule available if preferred. Block scheduling likely to accommodate staffing needs.

• Float across multiple specialty ICUs including Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, Medical Surgical ICU, and IMC/Progressive Care units
• Work at Wisconsin's top-ranked hospital, a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center and nationally recognized teaching institution
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio: 3:1 for both day and night shifts
• 28 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 5 years of critical care nursing experience; 2+ years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in relevant specialty required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must pass mandatory telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Competency in multiple ICU specialties required including management of ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, cardiac drips, CRRT/CVVHD, arterial lines, central lines, and advanced critical care skills
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Strong arrhythmia interpretation skills required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
