Staff Accountant - Wilmington, DE - $70-85k - Hybrid! URGENT NEED!
Growing professional services client in Wilmington, DE is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the daily financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in their general ledger, partner distributions, and overall financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records by performing monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
Ensure the integrity of all financial transactions through regular monitoring and reconciliation of firm accounts.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
Process vendor payments, employee expense reimbursements, and monitor aging reports to ensure timely collections.
Assist with the calculation of partner draws and distributions, and provide data for year-end tax preparation.
Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary work papers and documentation.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance the firm’s financial reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Candidates should have 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience in a professional/corporate environment.
Proficiency in advanced Excel skills such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs is essential.
