Industrial Automation Maintenance Technologist

About the Role

Picture starting your shift on a fast-moving production floor. A sensor fault on a high-speed line triggers a PLC alarm; you trace the I/O, tweak ladder logic, retune a VFD, and bring the system back up—all before the next batch is queued. As an Industrial Automation Maintenance Technologist, you’ll keep our manufacturing equipment and facility support systems running at peak performance through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

What You’ll Do

Automation & Controls: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and adjust PLC-controlled machinery; work confidently with I/O, ladder logic, and related controls software.
Drives & Electrical: Install, commission, program, and repair Variable Frequency Drives; service 3-phase power systems up to 480 VAC.
Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Inspect, rebuild, and troubleshoot hydraulic power units, cylinders, proportional valves, and pneumatic circuits.
Mechanical & Millwright: Perform precision alignment of pumps and motors; replace bearings, gear reducers, chains, sprockets, and seals.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute PM routines, document work orders thoroughly, and track equipment condition for reliability insights.
Safety First: Follow LOTO procedures, OSHA standards, and all plant safety rules without compromise.
Documentation: Record all maintenance actions and parts usage in the CMMS with accuracy and timeliness.

What You Bring

Experience: 3–5 years of direct industrial maintenance work in a manufacturing or production setting.
PLC Proficiency: Read ladder logic and use software tools to troubleshoot control issues.
VFD Expertise: Parameterize, install, and diagnose AC/DC drives.
Electrical Safety: Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.
Education: High school diploma required; technical degree or certification preferred.
Technical Literacy: Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic flow diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
Hands-on Skills: Confident with digital multimeters, calibrators, hand tools, and diagnostic software for drives and PLCs.

Physical & Schedule Expectations

Lifting: Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Mobility: Climb ladders, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
Schedule: Flexible to support a 24/7 operation, including overtime, weekends, nights, and on-call rotation.
