****Job Title: Associate Director of Admission********POSITION SUMMARY:******The Associate Director of Admission at Harvey Mudd College, under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Director of Admission, will play an active and integral role in a wide variety of activities within the Office of Admission. This role requires full engagement in the entire admission process, from interacting with prospective students to the final stages of enrollment.****The Associate Director of Admission will lead the Office of Admission’s Communications team and will create and execute a vision and strategy to attract a wide range of STEM interested students and their families. They will be an essential part of the team that enrolls a class that aligns with Harvey Mudd College’s mission to educate leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with a deep understanding of the impact of their work on society. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of the Office of Admission.******DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:***** **Lead the Office of Admission’s communications team. Plan and execute strategies, create communication flows and templates for varying audiences, programs or channels, and evaluate metrics of different efforts*** **Liaison to the College’s Office of Communications and Marketing. Manage the creation, editing and tracking of projects, assure fulfillment in a timely manner, and manage cost and inventory. Work with the College’s website manager to ensure that the Office of Admission site is current and compliant. This may include editing and restructuring of the site.*** **Serve as an integral member of the Admission team responsible for recruiting and enrolling students who fulfill the College’s mission.*** **Support the mission of the Office of Admission in growing the diversity within the applicant pool and enrolling class. Contribute to strategies and programs designed to meet this objective.*** **Learn the College’s mission and ethos. Keep current with the College’s academic programs, support services, and co-curricular offerings.*** **Represent the college and build relationships with prospective students, their families, high school counselors, and community members. This includes interviewing prospective students and some off-campus recruitment travel.*** **Evaluate applications for admission in a timely manner and participate fully in the committee-based selection process of candidates for admission.*** **Develop fluency in office tools and procedures, especially Techolution’s Slate CRM and WordPress.*** **Practice discretion and maintain confidentiality of records, correspondence, and information, regardless of the format.*** **Maintain focus on several activities and priorities. Proficiency in design tools like WordPress and Canva, and project management tools like Trello is a plus.*** **Willing and able to travel (up to two weeks at a time, seasonal) and work weekend and evening hours as needed.******Preferred Qualifications:***** **Experience that has resulted in an understanding and appreciation of highly selective admission is appealing but not required.*** **Experience with Technolutions’ Slate CRM is a plus.*** **Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Content Management Systems are a plus.*** **Experience supervising professional staff.*** **Experience with project management.******Remote Work Eligibility:******Category B: All staff positions, regardless of remote work eligibility, require an initial 30-calendar-day on-campus work period. Based on an evaluation by the supervisor and area Vice President, this position is classified as Category B as defined in the College’s Remote Work Policy, with occasional ad-hoc remote work flexibility (as needed). Your approved remote work arrangements under Category B allow for up to 2 remote work days per week during the academic year and up to 3 remote work days during the non-academic year. Please note these days may vary depending on departmental and College needs.****Standard work hours will generally be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, though these hours may vary depending on departmental and College needs. All remote work arrangements, including ad-hoc remote work, must be approved by the direct supervisor, area Cabinet member, and Human Resources, and are subject to periodic review based on institutional needs. These arrangements are neither guaranteed nor considered entitlements and may change due to factors such as employee performance, evolving business needs, or changes to the position.******Physical Requirements:******While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit; stand, use hands and fingers and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual must regularly lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
