Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes. Collaborate with surgical teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care before, during, and after operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and prepare them for surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile environments and adhere to aseptic techniques during surgeries.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond swiftly to any intraoperative changes.
• Assist in pre-op, PACU, and circulating duties across various surgical cases including general, orthopedic, and obstetric procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Respond calmly and efficiently in emergency trauma or urgent surgical situations.

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS certification or ability to obtain within three months.
• Proven knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, patient safety, and precautions.
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies and trauma cases.
• Strong communication skills and emotional resilience to handle stressful situations.
