Time Limited - Program Coordinator I -Horry - INTERNAL

Responsibilities Under limited supervision, responsible for casework, court preparation and court attendance for cases where no volunteer Guardian ad Litem has been appointed. Must operate in accordance with the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program best practices and policies. Additional duties include training and public relations as county needs change. The employee must be able to work under limited supervision and exercise discretion concerning confidential information, provide day‑to‑day case management, court preparation, supervision and assistance to volunteer advocates, follow directions from County Director, Regional Staff and State Office Staff, and apply the South Carolina statutes and Best Practices of the SCGAL Program. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with volunteers, co‑workers and partner agencies, and perform multiple tasks, prioritize scheduling and organization. Ability to train and supervise volunteers, knowledge of computer applications and data entry, ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Directly advocate for victims of abuse/neglect within the assigned judicial circuit to ensure compliance with law, policy and program objectives. Maintain current programmatic knowledge of child‑specific and hearing‑related information; complete monthly monitoring reports and enter data into database; maintain accurate case files. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the Department of Social Services, Family Court and other child‑serving agencies. Assist the coordinator with supervision and management of volunteers, training sessions and recruitment efforts as caseload decreases. Complete any special assignments or tasks as assigned by supervisor. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience, considered with approved equivalence by DSGH. Position may require overnight travel, work evenings and weekends, routine driver duties, frequent lifting of 25 lbs, essential declaration and reporting to work during emergencies. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Work performed primarily in office environment, with travel and field work required in areas with known, predictable, and controllable risks and hazards. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.
