Role Description

\n

We’re looking for a motivated, proactive sales professional to help homeowners explore the benefits of solar energy. Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, a drive to meet sales goals, and the ability to work independently. Solar or direct sales experience is preferred.

Compensation

\n
• $26,000 annual base salary
\n
• 8% commission per contract
\n
• Average commission of $2,000+ per contract
\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Generate your own leads through prospecting, networking, and outreach. Leads are not provided.
\n
• Explain solar options and guide homeowners through the sales process.
\n
• Follow up with prospects and close contracts.
\n
• Maintain accurate records of sales activity and customer interactions.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Strong sales and customer relationship skills, including lead generation, consultative selling, and closing deals.
\n
• Ability to clearly explain technical solar PV concepts, installation steps, and state and federal incentives in accessible language.
\n
• Proficiency with CRM tools and basic digital productivity software to manage contacts, track opportunities, and document activities.
\n
• Effective communication and presentation skills, including virtual and in-person meetings with residential and commercial clients.
\n
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote, contract-based environment.
\n
• Prior experience in solar, renewable energy, home improvement, or related sales is preferred but not required.
\n
• Familiarity with Maryland energy incentives, utility structures, or local regulations is an advantage.
\n
• Reliable access to phone, internet, and transportation for client meetings as needed.
