Executive Producer

Reporting Structure: Director of Production Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Job Responsibilities Provide executive oversight across a portfolio of projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, creative objectives, operational standards, and client expectations are consistently achieved. Lead the successful execution of the agency's largest, most complex, and highest-profile productions from initial strategy through final reconciliation. Establish project priorities, allocate production resources, and balance workload across the department to maximize efficiency, quality, and profitability. Anticipate organizational, operational, financial, and production risks, implementing proactive solutions that support successful project delivery and long-term business objectives. Serve as the senior production authority for assigned projects, providing strategic guidance, executive decision-making, and leadership throughout the production lifecycle. Partner with the Director of Production to continuously strengthen department operations, production capabilities, and long-term organizational growth. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors, venues, production partners, technical providers, fabricators, and strategic suppliers. Lead complex vendor negotiations, contract strategy, and procurement decisions while balancing creative objectives, operational requirements, financial performance, and project risk. Evaluate vendor performance across projects while strengthening Unboxed's network of trusted production partners. Ensure vendor agreements, insurance requirements, contracts, and procurement processes align with company standards and risk management practices. Identify strategic partnerships that improve production capabilities, operational efficiency, service offerings, and long-term scalability. Provide executive oversight of project budgets from initial estimate through final reconciliation, ensuring financial accountability across the production portfolio. Monitor project profitability, forecast financial performance, identify risks, and implement corrective strategies that protect margins and client satisfaction. Partner with Finance and Operations to improve budgeting processes, forecasting accuracy, financial reporting, and operational visibility. Review complex budgets, scope changes, procurement decisions, and financial commitments while ensuring alignment with company objectives. Drive continuous improvement in financial discipline, operational efficiency, and resource utilization across the production department. Client & Executive Stakeholder Management Serve as the executive production lead for key clients, providing strategic guidance, production expertise, and executive-level relationship management. Partner with Account, Creative, Operations, Finance, and executive leadership to align production strategy with business objectives and client expectations. Lead executive-level client meetings, presentations, production planning sessions, and critical project discussions with confidence and professionalism. Navigate complex client challenges by balancing creative vision, operational feasibility, financial performance, and long-term partnership opportunities. Foster trusted client relationships that contribute to repeat business, expanded scopes of work, and long-term agency growth. Production Planning & Operational Oversight Oversee production planning across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring staffing, schedules, logistics, vendor coordination, technical execution, and operational readiness support successful delivery. Provide executive oversight during live event execution, making high-level production decisions while supporting Producers responsible for day-to-day operations. Ensure production teams consistently deliver projects that meet Unboxed standards for quality, safety, organization, and client experience. Establish and maintain production standards, documentation requirements, operational procedures, and quality expectations across all projects. Ensure project closeout documentation, financial reconciliation, reporting, and post-event evaluations are completed accurately and consistently. Lead, coach, and develop the Production team by providing mentorship, feedback, accountability, and opportunities for professional growth. Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and career development for Production team members. Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture that promotes ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Partner with the Director of Production to assess team capacity, staffing needs, freelance utilization, and long-term resource planning. Establish clear performance expectations while promoting consistency, communication, and professional development across the department. Process Improvement & Business Growth Continuously evaluate production operations, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, systems, documentation, communication, and departmental efficiency. Develop and implement scalable production standards, templates, tools, and best practices that improve consistency across the organization. Partner with Business Development, Creative, and Account teams on proposals, pitches, and RFPs by providing production strategy, budget architecture, staffing recommendations, and operational feasibility. Contribute to the development of new service offerings, operational capabilities, and production methodologies that strengthen Unboxed's competitive position. Champion a culture of operational excellence while ensuring the Production department continues to evolve alongside the agency's growth and long-term strategic objectives. Additional Requirements Up to 25% domestic/international travel expected. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours based on event schedules. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods, standing/walking for onsite work, lifting/moving of up to 25 pounds and occasionally heavier items. While working onsite, must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed. Must have a personal vehicle for occasional local travel — mileage compensation provided.
