A respected nonprofit organization serving North Central West Virginia (NCWV) is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Director of Finance to oversee financial operations and help advance programs that improve the lives of children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout the region.

Director of Finance Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership for a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash flow management.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and organizational performance metrics.
• Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to support strategic goals and decision-making.
• Ensure responsible stewardship of donor funds, grants, and community investments.
• Lead annual audits, financial compliance initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies.
• Monitor organizational financial health and identify opportunities for growth and sustainability.
• Support grant management, funding initiatives, and long-term financial planning.
• Provide financial insights that maximize community impact and mission effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field .
• Progressive experience in accounting, finance, financial management, or executive financial leadership.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning.
• Experience with audits, compliance, risk management, and financial controls.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to executive leadership, board members, and stakeholders.
• Experience managing nonprofit finances, grants, or donor-funded programs is preferred.
