About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Treasurer/CFO to serve as the Executive Manager of its cash and investment portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the office's compliance with property tax statutes and bond covenants, providing executive oversight for investments, cash management, and the accounting and distribution of current and delinquent tax dollars. This role also involves overseeing the completion of the annual budget, guiding internal audits, and comprehensive financial reporting. The Deputy Treasurer/CFO will work in collaboration with the Treasurer and Chief Deputy Treasurer to provide leadership for the company's treasury operations, support fiscal management, and ensure compliance with various financial standards and regulations. Applicants for the Deputy Treasurer/CFO position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and a CPA is also preferred. A minimum of 7 years' experience in governmental tax management and a minimum of 5 years' experience in managing a medium to large-scale public agency finance department are required. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in financial management, including the ability to identify and address financial, operational, and compliance risks, and to develop and maintain financial policies and procedures. The Deputy Treasurer/CFO will also be involved in debt administration, and compliance, and must be adept at supervising and supporting finance staff. The position requires a proactive approach to staying current on developments in public finance and providing recommendations to support informed decision-making.
