Software DeveloperNetwork Software Developer KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security. KBR is seeking individuals for multiple Software Developer positions to support research and prototyping in future networking programs. Individuals in this position operate as part of an MIT LL team and are responsible for developing software related to software defined networking, routing protocols, and associated software infrastructure.Responsibilities include:Enable critically important communications over vast distances by being the team member to innovate and overcome technical challenges as we spearhead new solutions through advanced prototyping.Come join a team of enthusiastic engineers engaged in creating the next generation of cutting-edge laser communication systems technology.Your contributions will be pivotal in designing and optimizing defense systems that ensure national security and shape the future of space defense and/or defense.Development of networking software for simulation, emulation, and/or testbed effortsInfrastructure development including container management and deployment using KubernetesSupport in the development of software-defined networking and/or routing approaches to solve problems and/or improve performance in emerging networksOn-site with the possibility of hybrid arrangementWilling and able to travel (up to 10%, typically CONUS)StandardActive DoD clearanceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field3-5 years of experienceExperience with C++ and PythonExperience with KubernetesFamiliarity with software-defined networking (SDN)Familiarity with routing protocolsGood oral and communication skillsAbility to work within a team environmentExperience with software-defined networkingExperience with operation and/or implementation of routing protocolsPossess strong oral and written communications skills, and ability to clearly and logically present findings/results to internal and external organizationsIf you're excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at KBR.
