The City of The Village is currently seeking candidates to serve the community as the next city manager. The incumbent has accepted a position in a neighboring community. The Village is best summarized as a small town identity with every big city amenity within 5 miles. The Village is home to 9,500 of the friendliest neighbors in the best 2.5 square miles of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. Local businesses provide great dining and shopping opportunities. We have quick access to OK 74 Hefner Parkway, I-344 Kilpatrick Turnpike, and I-235 Broadway extension to get anywhere across the metro quickly. We have amazing suburbs like OKC, Edmond and Nichols Hills. Quality of Life and Safety & Security are primary focus for leadership.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated successful performance in the following knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences:

• Committed servant leader with experience as a chief executive officer in local government in Oklahoma.
• Proven decision-making attributes with consideration for secondary and tertiary effects and impacts.
• Council-manager relations skills to develop and foster an open and honest team focus concentrating efforts on the best outcomes for the community.
• Direct experience successfully negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements with public safety unions and resolving grievances.
• Budget development, execution and management skills and experience.
• Experience with navigating city charter, council-manager form of government, and Oklahoma statutes and labor laws.
• Demonstrated performance managing high-performing department heads, staff directorates, and supervisors in complex and diversly operating departments.
• City Clerk skillset for agendas, open meetings, open records and document management.
• Team centric and team focused leader who incorporates “we” into vision while developing and growing subordinate leaders.
• Ability to grow collaborative partnerships with neighboring communities and regional partners while sustaining relationships with local government associations and professional networks.
• Exceptional communication skills for internal and external needs as well as community engagement and marketing.
• Talent management experience to sustain, mentor and develop subordinate leaders for success.
