Clinical Research Coordinator II

Objectives:

A Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is a specialized medical research professional working with and under the supervision of the Research Clinic Manager and the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). While the PI is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the clinical trial, the CRC II independently coordinates and oversees daily clinical trial activities, ensuring study objectives, timelines, and regulatory requirements are met. Responsibilities:

The Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II):

• Manages, coordinates, and implements clinical studies of moderate complexity independently.

• Serves as primary coordinator on assigned studies.

• Anticipates and resolves study operational issues, escalating when appropriate.

• Mentors and trains CRC I staff and other personnel.

• Leads study start-up, monitoring visit preparation, and close-out activities.

• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.

• Maintains study documentation according to standard operating procedures.

• Carries out study duties from protocol initiation to study close-out.

• Adheres to regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures.

• Works closely with study team members.

• Uses existing procedures to solve routine or new problems.

• Completes study-related and other administrative tasks.

• Complies with Good Clinical Practice and the Code of Federal Regulations.

• Keeps current with all federal, state, sponsor and site policies and laws, standard operating procedures, and guidelines.

• Demonstrates accountability for learning in accordance with GCP guidelines.

• Keeps current with industry standards, best practices and trends in areas relevant to research studies and designs Requirements:

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a scientific, health related, or business administration program, preferred. At minimum, candidates should have an associate’s degree and/or related industry experience.

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and databases used in research environment or have a willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency within six months of hire.

• Be knowledgeable of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, policies and procedures or willing to learn within six months of hire.

• Have at least 3-5 years of experience in a clinical research environment.

• Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate studies.

• Ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously.

• Experience training or mentoring research personnel.

• Advanced knowledge of GCP and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Have basic medical and scientific knowledge, contact lens knowledge is preferred. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
