Safety CoordinatorA growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support active multifamily, commercial, hospitality, rehabilitation, and mechanical construction projects throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture by partnering with field teams, project managers, superintendents, and operations to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, enjoys working in the field, and is passionate about creating safe, productive jobsites.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and maintain a strong safety culture across active construction projectsConduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessmentsEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policiesLead new hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety trainingInvestigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries while documenting findings and corrective actionsMaintain safety reports, inspection logs, training records, and compliance documentationPartner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to proactively address safety concernsMonitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirementsCoordinate safety walks before project startup to identify potential hazardsSupport employee onboarding and safety training initiativesParticipate in safety meetings and recommend continuous process improvementsProject TypesMultifamily ConstructionCommercial ConstructionHospitalityRehabilitation ProjectsMechanical, HVAC & Plumbing ConstructionSingle-Family ResidentialRequirements2–3+ years of construction safety experience requiredExperience supporting multifamily construction projects preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) requiredValid California Driver's License with a clean driving recordStrong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practicesExcellent communication, presentation, and leadership skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently while supporting multiple active jobsitesPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 certificationCPR/First Aid certificationExperience operating or training on telehandlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, or aerial liftsExperience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and field trainingCompensation & BenefitsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(k)Medical, dental, vision, and life insurancePaid holidays and PTOLong-term career growth with a leading HVAC and plumbing contractorOpportunity to support a diverse portfolio of construction projects throughout California
