Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle functions in alignment with individual care plans.
• Oversee physical therapy assistants to ensure they carry out therapies as directed and in accordance with established care plans.
• Conduct detailed evaluations of client function through diagnostic testing on muscle, nerve, joint, and other capabilities.
• Assess home environments for rehabilitation potential and create recommendations to enhance patient independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, traction, and massage, while motivating clients through their rehabilitation journeys.
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed, consulting with physicians regarding required modifications.
• Document clinical records meticulously, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Convene with interdisciplinary teams during case conferences to strategize comprehensive patient treatment plans.
• Instruct clients and their families on the maintenance and use of physical therapy devices, while educating them about the overall therapy program.
• Ensure timely submission of orders and documentation as per branch policies, while also supporting administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
