About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President for Trade Surveillance. The successful candidate will be a key partner with global surveillance colleagues and various stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Business Unit Risk, Operations, and Technology. The role involves supporting the development and execution of the surveillance program across different products, markets, and jurisdictions. The Vice President will be responsible for owning surveillance risk in assigned areas, responding to escalations, and ensuring effective surveillance coverage across a range of asset classes. This includes acting as a senior escalation point, leveraging surveillance technology platforms, and assessing trading activity for potential market abuse concerns. The position also requires the ability to manage multiple workstreams, contribute to issue management, and lead regulatory inquiries and internal reviews. Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' of experience in trade surveillance, market abuse surveillance, compliance monitoring, or a related control function. A solid understanding of market structure and trading across various asset classes is essential, as is hands-on experience with surveillance technology platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, analytical capability, and the ability to work independently with a high level of organization. Knowledge of market conduct risk, regulatory expectations, and emerging risks such as digital assets and electronic trading behaviors is a plus. The role demands effective communication skills, the ability to build relationships, and the confidence to challenge perspectives when necessary.
