Sr Business Product Mgr (Rights Management) Job Summary: The Content Platforms’ Rights Management Team is looking for a Product Manager to support the day‑to‑day activities of the Product Lifecycle. The role will help define and launch products supporting the distribution of Disney’s content across direct‑to‑consumer and content sales channels. Working with design, engineering, infrastructure, and QA teams you will reimagine the product for the future of Disney, maximizing automation, incremental revenue, and operational improvements across Direct‑to‑Consumer and Content Sales businesses. If you Enjoy working with talented and passionate teams Have excellent communication skills Demonstrate determination in finding solutions to complex puzzles Have curiosity and interest in how content moves from inception to consumers Employ positive thinking and work constructively in a diverse team setting Enjoy transforming business strategy into innovative products & platforms Value learning and new experiences Love working in a startup culture Find Media & Entertainment industry fascinating Responsibilities Product Strategy & Vision Articulate product strategy and gain alignment from business stakeholders and cross‑functional technical teams Create product roadmaps that link vision, strategy, objectives, and execution Provide end‑to‑end product management for specific product or platform within the Rights Management domain Collaborate with business partners to evaluate value proposition of enhancement requests and propose alternative solutions Engagement & Collaboration Collaborate with business partners and cross‑functional teams to identify and define business requirements Assist in process alignment and standardization Work with engineering and program managers to deliver solutions supporting product and Content Platforms strategy Work closely with cross‑functional teams (engineering, design, QA, product leadership) to optimize product features and improve processes Product Execution & Delivery Manage maintenance and prioritization of product backlog ensuring transparent, well‑aligned prioritization Support the team in identifying, developing, and verifying appropriate solutions for issues Refine solutions into a practical minimum viable product that efficiently addresses highest‑priority requirements Coordinate major product releases Participate in daily scrum meetings, planning, reviews, and retrospectives Product Analysis & Decision–Making Make thoughtful, well–documented assumptions Own cost/benefit analysis and prepare lean business cases Define realistic product targets / KPIs / OKRs Leverage product frameworks and tools to document information in a structured way (user journey maps, flow, information architecture, etc.) User Focus & Experience Exhibit natural and intuitive user empathy Constantly seek ways to improve user experience and streamline business operations Own system processes, user guides and training materials for product features as needed Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 5+ years product management experience, preferably in digital media supply chain Strong product understanding and platform familiarity Knowledge and experience in product management for content rights and availability Knowledge and experience in first, third, and acquired content workflows for direct‑to‑consumer streaming Self‑starter and can work independently under time constraints Strong presentation and communication skills Strong technical writing skills Ability to derive actionable insights through user research Ability to craft and validate problems Efficiently support experimentation execution and analysis, such as proofs of concept Ability to define product roadmaps Understanding of business modeling and structured cost/benefit analysis Ability to write and prioritize user stories Ability to adjust and pivot as business strategy and product priorities shift Experience leading or facilitating business workshops Clear understanding of development processes, methodologies, and tools Capability to provide informal guidance to junior team members Experience incorporating data science and analytics into product solutions Familiarity with Rightsline Familiarity with Workato Preferred Qualifications MBA or Master’s in related technical field Exposure or experience with Agile development tools (Jira, Airtable, Confluence) Prior work experience in financial/accounting in content exploitation Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and enhancements Established expertise in financial operations, controls, reporting, and systems Understanding of general ledger, hierarchies, and data structures Experience utilizing AI/ML to automate business processes and drive monetization opportunities Knowledge of or experience in Media & Entertainment industry Enthusiasm and interest in Disney brands Understanding of media production workflows, digital video workflows, or consumer‑facing video product features Compensation & Benefits The base salary for this position in Glendale, CA is $141,900.00 – $190,300.00. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
