Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianPrimary Role American Water is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team in East. St. Louis. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance of treatment plant equipment including hydraulics, chemical feed systems, analyzers, pumps, motors, valves and more. Our ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be eager to learn the water industry.Knowledge/SkillsStrong work ethic, time management and organizational and team membership skillsAbility to communicate well and to work with minimal supervisionGood mechanical skillsAbility to start up, shut down, and make operating adjustments to all equipment for proper continued operationAbility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbsBasic computer skills are requiredEducation/ExperienceHigh school degree or equivalent requiredMechanical and/or electrical experience or training is desired0-2 years of experience working in water industryShifts/HoursFull-time Tuesday - Saturday 2PM - 10:30PM**Changes in hours may become necessary for continued operation of Business**CertificationsClass C Water Operator License required after 2 years in positionClass A Water Operator License required after 4 years in positionClass C driver's license and D.O.T. medical card required within 30 days of being awarded position
