Senior Employment Litigation Attorney

Portland, OR

Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Employment Litigation Attorney with 7+ years of experience to join the Employment Litigation team of a well-established law firm in Portland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to take on meaningful responsibility, work closely with accomplished partners, and continue building a sophisticated employment law practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment litigation. Experience handling class and collective actions is preferred , though candidates without substantial class action experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Develop case strategy and advise clients on litigation risk

• Draft and respond to pleadings and motions

• Manage discovery

• Take and defend depositions

• Argue motions

• Participate in mediations

• Prepare cases for trial

• Manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced practice

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of employment litigation experience

• Strong employment litigation background

• Class and collective action experience preferred

• Excellent writing and analytical skills

• Strong judgment and organizational skills

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

• Admission to the Oregon Bar required

• Demonstrated ability and interest in incorporating technology and innovative tools into legal practice
