Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Analyze deferred revenue, subscriptions, and billing activity
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Partner with billing, sales operations, and finance teams
- Support audits and provide documentation to external auditors
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of accounting experience (public accounting or SaaS experience is a plus)
- Basic understanding of GAAP; exposure to ASC 606 preferred
