Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum of 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience is required. - Pulmonary patient care experience is required. - Experience caring for ventilated patients, including bi-pap and trach care, is highly preferred. - Recent or current charge experience is required. - Level I trauma experience is highly preferred. License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license at the time of submission is required. Certifications: - Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required. Must-Have: - Work history/resume must demonstrate 24 months of medical surgical experience. - Skills checklist must align with the medical surgical discipline. - Professional reference from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director is preferred. - Driver’s license is required. Description: We are seeking qualified candidates for a nursing position in a medical surgical environment. The unit provides care for patients with pulmonary and medical surgical needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4 to 1:6. Nurses may be required to float among different campuses. Candidates will be expected to work 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed. The role involves caring for patients who may be COVID-positive. Nurses will be expected to manage medications and drips, including heparin. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team. Strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs are essential. We are quickly interviewing viable candidates.
