Legal Assistant – Personal Injury
Location: Towson, Maryland
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position: Full-Time, In-Office
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our personal injury practice. This position supports attorneys and paralegals in managing active personal injury matters from intake through settlement.
The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a personal injury law firm, understands the basic progression of an automobile accident claim, and is comfortable communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with opening and maintaining personal injury matters
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates and outstanding information
- Open insurance claims and communicate with insurance carriers
- Prepare and send letters of representation and routine correspondence
- Request and follow up on medical records, bills, police reports, and other case documentation
- Track medical treatment and obtain treatment updates from clients
- Assist with property damage, PIP, and lost-wage documentation
- Maintain accurate case information and documents in the firm's case management system
- Calendar and monitor assigned tasks and follow-ups
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with preparation of files for demands and settlement
- Perform general administrative and case-support duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of personal injury law firm experience required
- Experience with automobile accident claims strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Professional written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple matters and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with case management software and electronic files
- Dependable and able to work independently within established procedures
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position , Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM .
We are looking for someone who already understands the fundamentals of personal injury case support and can become a productive member of the team with limited foundational training.
